Touch down at San Salvador International Airport (SAL), where your private driver will be waiting to greet you with a smile and safely transport you to your hotel. After check-in, take the rest of the day to unwind—whether relaxing poolside, strolling nearby streets, or simply soaking in the excitement that your El Salvador adventure has officially begun!
Your private transfer whisks you through the coastal landscape to the capital. Stay at a luxurious option like the Barceló San Salvador (with views of the volcano) or Hilton in the upscale Escalon area.
Depending on your arrival time, enjoy an afternoon or moonlit stroll to discover the heart of San Salvador through its historical palaces, bustling plazas, and vibrant everyday life.
DAY 2: San Salvador to Suchitoto
Includes breakfast and lunch.
Explore the vibrant heart of San Salvador, visiting the Historic Center, Central Plaza, National Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral (with the tomb of Saint Óscar Romero), and the unique El Rosario Church.
Journey north to the colonial gem of Suchitoto (“Place of the Flower Bird”), with cobblestone streets and pastel homes. Enjoy lunch upon arrival and wander around Santa Lucía Church and the main plaza. Overnight at the boutique Los Almendros de San Lorenzo.
DAY 3: A Day in Suchitoto

Dive into the history of indigo (añil) with a hands-on experience: Learn the traditional process and dye your own scarf. Afternoon free to explore the town at your leisure. Overnight at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo.
DAY 4: Joya de Cerén and Lago Coatepeque
Includes breakfast.
Visit UNESCO-listed Joya de Cerén (“Pompeii of the Americas”), a preserved Mayan village. Then relax at stunning Lake Coatepeque caldera. Overnight at Cardedeu with infinity pools and lake access.
DAY 5: Los Volcanes National Park & Lake Coatepeque

Explore Los Volcanes National Park with views of Izalco, Santa Ana, and Cerro Verde volcanoes. Optional hike to Santa Ana summit for turquoise crater lagoon views. Hands-on pupusa-making class, then afternoon relaxing by Lake Coatepeque. Overnight at Cardedeu.
