1) Ilamatepec Volcano. This gem is known for its vibrant turquoise lake nestled in the crater of the volcano. Standing at 2,381 meters, this volcano is well worth your time and a trek to the top to peer inside the crater for optimal viewing of Lake Coatepeque. 2) Izalco Volcano. Formed in 1770, the Izalco volcano is the youngest volcano in El Salvador and one of the youngest in the world!
