While some trails may become muddy or slippery after heavy rainfall, hiking is still possible with appropriate footwear and a little flexibility. 2) Surfing Conditions & Beach Activities
El Salvador is known for excellent surfing year-round. Due to southern-hemisphere groundswells, the surf season is consistent. The changing variables are the size of the swell, the crowd, and the weather above the water.
The prime surf season runs during the wet season, when the water is warmer, April through October. The afternoon rainstorms can be a deterrent; however, the mornings are glassy and perfect. The dry season is the most popular time to visit beaches as it brings consistent conditions and sunny beach days.
